string(1511) "En el primer año de la nueva administración presidencial, el gobierno realizó recortes importantes al sector salud, así como también disminuyó o eliminó el subsidio de algunos programas sociales, a fin de financiar aquellos de nueva creación. A partir de la inquietud de los fuertes cambios sociales y tecnológicos que están ocurriendo tanto a nivel nacional como global, la presente entrega realiza una revisión de los conceptos de bienestar, salud y enfermedad. Nuestra primera sección explora entre otras cosas: ¿qué es un Estado de bienestar?, ¿es posible dar una definición objetiva del "bienestar" siendo que éste tiene un cariz, a primera vista, tan subjetivo?, ¿de qué manera es posible calcular el grado del mismo en la población?, ¿qué particularidades deben tener las instituciones dedicadas a salvaguardarlo? Por otro lado, nuestro segundo apartado dedicado a la salud, apunta hacia el vínculo provechoso, pero poco explorado, que podría surgir entre la medicina tradicional y la medicina alópata. Asimismo señala la dirección que están tomando los avances científicos en materia de salud y advierte sobre sus principales peligros y obstáculos. Finalmente, tratamos el tema de la enfermedad, condición difícil para el enfermo y sus familiares, que nos ofrece información importante para poder comprendernos a nosotros mismos. También nos recuerda nuestra dimensión temporal y espacial, la cual es esencial, a la vez que finita.

Constantemente referidos a la libertad de los pueblos gálicos son los comentarios de Julio César, autor del escrito y protagonista de los hechos, y sobre estos comentarios versa la interpretación que Rubén Bonifaz Nuño nos ofrece en la introducción a esta obra. César mira ciego por engrandecer su gloria a costa del sacrificio de los pueblos. Bonifaz Nuño, en cambio, enseña que, del análisis de esta obra, los estudiantes mexicanos podemos obtener diversas y válidas lecciones: de sabiduría, de energía, de humanidad, de hombría, tanto de romanos como de galos. Pero la máxima consiste en el análisis de la lengua, perfecta, de César, pues dominando la nuestra, habremos de conquistarla y, una vez nuestra, "esa lengua se nos convertirá, de síntoma de sumisión, en arma de libertad y de soberanía".
