El espectador que ha seguido la trayectoria de Magali Lara y el público asiduo al Museo Universitario de Ciencias y Arte se encontrarán a partir de hoy con una retrospectiva de lo que esta artista plástica ha creado en los distintos géneros que ha hecho legítima, magníficamente suyos.
Los espectadores repararán, sin duda, en la modestia que encierra el título que Magali Lara le dio a esta exposición que la UNAM se complace en presentar: Mi versión de los hechos... Pudo haberla llamado también: La reconstrucción de los hechos.

La obra de Farocki propone un potente cruce entre cine y arte contemporáneo. Sus instalaciones para video han sido exhibidas en bienales y en numerosos museos alrededor del mundo. Ello ha contribuido a generar nuevas lecturas acerca de su obra, gracias a la puesta en marcha de un diálogo entre imagen y espacio museal. Sus videoinstalaciones plantean una fragmentación temporal y espacial que acentúa la propuesta, en la que se destacan las consecuencias ideológicas de la imagen, y su reverso, las posibilidades de enunciación política a partir del uso de diferentes recursos cinematográficos, tales como la voz en off y el montaje, entre otros aspectos. El cine es expuesto mediante un ejercicio de selección, comparación o analogía. El artista propone una relación con la imagen desde un extrañamiento de corte brechtiano; así, las imágenes son desnaturalizadas y decantadas para hablar de las capas de sentido subyacentes."
