Se revisa a fray Luis de Granada y se pasa a Descartes, el cual influyó en Edmund Husserl. Hay un capítulo sobre la corriente del personalismo, en la que destacan Emmanuel Mounier y Paul Ricoeur, el cual fue un connotado hermeneuta, y se habla del teórico de la interpretación Juan Manuel Almarza. Después se aplica la hermenéutica a la comprensión del símbolo, y se habla acerca de la metáfora y la poesía. Y, ya que la poesía nos conecta con la imaginación o fantasía, se trata el tema de lo imaginario, tomando en cuenta que un gran hermeneuta, Nietzsche, consideraba que la fantasía era lo más constitutivo de nuestro pensamiento."
