string(1451) "Hace más de cien años los socialistas reflexionaban acerca de cuáles eran las condiciones —subjetivas y objetivas— para que se produjera una revolución. La pregunta puede formularse tanto en lo político como en lo social, lo cultural, lo artístico, lo tecnológico y lo científico. Nuestro número de octubre coincide con el centenario de la revolución rusa y decidimos conmemorarlo desde el ángulo poco estudiado de las mujeres que participaron en ella. Partiendo de este acontecimiento histórico, quisimos extender la conversación a otras revoluciones emblemáticas del siglo XX, desde la revolución china hasta las guerrillas centroamericanas, pasando por la revolución mexicana, la cubana, la surrealista y las científicas, así como las secuelas que dejaron tras de sí. Más que hacer un recuento histórico, nos interesaba analizar desde una perspectiva actual la forma en que determinaron el mundo en el que vivimos. -

Con este número, la Revista de la Universidad de México inaugura una nueva época. En ella se retoma una de sus grandes tradiciones: la edición de números monográficos en torno a un tema relevante para nuestra sociedad, desde puntos de vista tan diversos como las humanidades, las ciencias, el arte y la creación literaria. En esta nueva época, además del dossier temático mensual, la revista contará con nuevas secciones. “Panóptico” refrenda nuestra vocación de observatorio interdisciplinario con sus cinco apartados: “Palco” abre un espacio plural para la crítica de artes escénicas, el arte performático y el conceptual; “Alambique” se aboca a promover la discusión interdisciplinaria sobre temas científicos; “Ágora” alberga la reflexión sobre la ciencia política y otras cuestiones sociales en torno a problemas de carácter atemporal; “Personajes secundarios” es una columna dedicada a personalidades históricas y ficticias que viven a la sombra de los vencedores; “Otros mundos” se quiere una ventana de reportaje, crónica y testimonio, enfocada en ambientes poco conocidos, singulares, excéntricos y a la vez muy cercanos. Por último, nuestras reseñas (tanto de libros como de obras musicales o cinematográficas) aspiran a ser breves ensayos que aporten elementos para una lectura profunda e informada."
